Winter storms couldn’t cool these players off, with all three of our stars recording hat-tricks and leading their team to victory in week 16!
1st Star - Chloe Valente, University of South Florida (W): 6 Goals, 3 Assists, 9 Points in 2 Games Played
When you face off against the USF Ice Bulls, keeping tabs on Chloe Valente is a must.
In the opening game against the Florida State Seminoles, Valente was directly involved in four straight goals, scoring twice and setting up her teammates for the other two. She followed that performance up in game two with a hat trick—and added a fourth goal for good measure—along with an assist as the Ice Bulls completed the sweep with an 8–4 win.
USF will once again lean on Valente’s offensive firepower when the Ice Bulls take on the tough Tampa Lady Spartans defense at the Gasparilla Showcase this week.
2nd Star - Sully Swiersz, University of Florida M2: 6 Goal, 0 Assists, 6 Points in 2 Games Played
Sully Swiersz turned in his best weekend of the season, helping Florida clip the Boston College Eagles’ wings with a four-goal performance in a thrilling 9–8 overtime victory.
Swiersz stayed red-hot against the Tampa Spartans (M2), opening the scoring and sealing the game with the final goal in a 5–3 Gators win.
Florida and Swiersz will look to close out the regular season on a high note when they face the Florida Atlantic Owls (M2) at Clearwater Ice Arena in their final meeting before the CHS playoffs.
3rd Star - Alex Moeller, University of Tampa M2, 6 Goals, 0 Assists, 6 Points in 3 Games Played
It was a busy weekend for Alex Moeller and the Spartans, who skated through three games in three days—and Moeller made the most of every opportunity.
He opened his weekend with a goal in a 9–1 win over the USF Ice Bulls (M3), then exploded for a three-goal performance on home ice against the Boston College Eagles in an 11–6 victory. Moeller capped off the weekend by scoring two of Tampa’s three goals in a hard-fought matchup against Florida.
The Spartans will have a chance to climb the rankings with a three-game series against the Florida Atlantic Owls (M2) to close out the regular season for both teams.
Congratulations to Chloe Valente, Sully Swiersz and Alex Moeller for earning honors as College Hockey South’s Three Stars of Week 16!
