Another week has come and gone during the 2024-25 College Hockey South season, and these three players stood out with stellar performances this past weekend.
1st Star: Jonathan Naas, University of Miami (D3): 5 Goals, 4 Assists, 9 Points in 2 Games Played
It was certainly a no-brainer that Jonathan Naas earned our first star of the week.
In Miami’s first meeting against the University of North Florida Ospreys, Naas channeled his inner Auston Matthews, scoring four goals and adding an assist in the Hurricanes’ 10-3 win.
He followed that performance with a goal and three assists in Miami’s 10-2 win over the Ospreys, bringing his season total to 18 points (12 goals, 6 assists) in 10 games played this season.
Naas leads Miami in goals and points.
2nd Star: Rhys Gulotta, University of Alabama (D3): 4 Goals, 4 Assists, 8 Points in 2 Games Played
Rhys Gulotta shines as our second star of the week.
Gulotta capped off Alabama’s regular season in style, recording eight points in the final two games against Austin Peay State University. Gulotta had 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) in each matchup, helping the Frozen Tide sweep the season series.
Gulotta leads the Crimson Tide with 26 points (18 goals, 8 assists) in 18 games. The Frozen Tide ended their season with an 11-7-1 (8-5-1, 17 points) record and became the fourth team in the Division 3 North Division to clinch a playoff spot.
After a stellar season, Gulotta will be a key player to watch in the postseason.
3rd Star: Joah Tratar, University of Alabama (D3): 4 Goals, 3 Assists, 7 Points in 2 Games Played
Joah Tratar joins Alabama teammate Rhys Gulotta as our third star of the week.
Tratar played a crucial role in the Crimson Tide’s weekend sweep, contributing a goal and two assists in Alabama’s 9-2 win over Austin Peay State, and followed up with a hat trick and an assist in their 10-2 win.
Tratar is now tied for second in points on Alabama, with 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) in 18 games played.
Congratulations to Jonathan, Rhys, and Joah on being named our Three Stars of the Week! With the playoffs around the corner, expect more standout performances from these top players.
