This weekend, Florida Atlantic University (FAU) D3 delivered a dominant performance, sweeping the University of Miami D3 in a two-game series. FAU won 13-3 on Friday and 11-2 on Saturday.
Christian Cuccia had an exceptional weekend, finishing with six goals, eight assists, and 14 total points.
Cuccia set the tone on Friday with one of the most impressive scoring displays in College Hockey South this season, netting three goals and dishing out seven assists for a remarkable 10-point game in the Owls' 13-3 win.
On Saturday, Cuccia followed up with another hat trick, though this time he added just one assist. With his stellar performances against Miami, Cuccia has now built an 11-point lead as the top scorer in Division 3.
2nd Star: David Israel - Florida Atlantic University (D2): 7 goals, 4 assists, 11 points in 2 games
In another dominant weekend sweep, Florida Atlantic University’s Division 2 team claimed victory in the Battle for Boca against the Lynn Fighting Knights. The Owls secured a 15-2 win on Friday and followed it up with an 18-2 triumph on Saturday night.
David Israel was the standout performer, racking up seven goals and four assists for an impressive 11 points across the two games.
With their dominant wins, the Owls have locked in a spot in the playoffs.
Although Israel has only played in 10 games, he currently ranks third on the team with 28 points. FAU’s leading scorer, Brady Baesher, has amassed 36 points, but in 17 games.
3rd Star: Alyssa Nardslico - University of South Carolina (W): 4 goals, 5 assists, 9 points in 2 games
The South Carolina Gamecocks played two games this weekend, showcasing strong performances on both days.
In their first matchup against the Tennessee Lady Ice Vols, defenseman Alyssa Nardslico stole the show with a hat trick and an assist, delivering a standout performance.
The Gamecocks followed up with a 6-2 victory over the University of Georgia Lady Dawgs in their second game.
In this win, Alyssa took on a playmaking role, shifting from scorer to facilitator. Nardslico continued her dominant play, contributing four assists and adding another goal to her tally.
