With Week 16 in the books, the College Hockey South playoff picture is beginning to take shape. Key series over the past two weekends have locked in postseason berths, reshuffled standings, and tightened races across every division. As teams turn their focus toward February, each point—and each ranking spot—carries added weight.
Here’s where the conference stands as the race to the CHS postseason continues.

Women’s Division
Since our last standings update, the Alabama Frozen Tide have joined Tampa as the only two teams to secure their playoff spots. The Frozen Tide clinched as a result of their sweep of rival Auburn on Jan. 17 and 18. Alabama’s quest to repeat as conference champion is alive and well in 2026.
The top three teams from each division will advance to the postseason, plus two wildcard teams.

Men’s Division 2
Despite a successful 2-0 start to the weekend for Tampa (wins over USF and Boston College), the Spartans dropped to third in the standings after losing to Florida on Sunday. The defending three-time conference champions have three games against first-place Florida Atlantic left on the schedule.
All three Division 2 teams will advance to the postseason.

Men’s Division 3
The top seven seeds remain unchanged since the last rankings update, with MTSU holding onto the number one spot. Ultimately, the 12 playoff teams have stayed true, but the order from 8 through 12 has been shuffled.
Previous number 11, Tennessee has vaulted up to the nine seed after upending a tough Clemson team the weekend before last. UCF dropped from 8 to 10 after losing its first three games of 2026.
The top 12 Division 3 teams will advance to the postseason. Standings are determined by ACHA rankings.

Men’s ACDC
The turn of the calendar has seen the Jacksonville Dolphins surge up the standings, trailing only the Florida Gators for the top spot in the division. The Dolphins defeated Florida 5-4 at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday to close the gap to two points.
The top six teams in ACDC will advance to the postseason.
