The spring semester slate has officially begun, and with it comes a rapid march toward the postseason.

But before diving into Week 14 action, College Hockey South first turns its attention to a milestone moment for the conference: CHS’s second-ever European tour.

CHS Returns to Europe

Following the overwhelming success of its inaugural European trip in early 2025—where a select CHS team competed across Austria and Germany—positive player feedback inspired Commissioner Kyle Knell to expand the conference’s international footprint.

That momentum led to the planning of a second tour, held during the opening days of 2026, featuring a hand-selected group of 23 players from seven CHS programs. Over the course of eight days, the CHS All-Stars traveled across northern France, competing in four games against top U20 and U25 teams from the French hockey system.

CHS All-Stars Finish 3-0-1 in France

Game 1 – Rouen Dragons

The tour opened in Rouen with a tightly contested matchup at Centre Sportif Guy-Boissière. CHS jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but the Dragons stormed back, eventually earning a 4-3 shootout win in front of a raucous home crowd.

Despite the loss, Luc Haggitt (Alabama) was outstanding in net, stopping numerous high-danger chances and seven of ten shootout attempts. Although he played just one period, Haggitt earned Player of the Game honors from the coaching staff.

Game 2 – Strasbourg U20

What was expected to be a six-hour bus ride from Rouen to Strasbourg turned into a 13-hour travel ordeal due to weather and traffic delays. Even so, the All-Stars showed no signs of fatigue, dominating Strasbourg’s U20 squad in a 5-0 shutout.

Brendan Ogle (MTSU) led the way with a hat trick, all three goals assisted by linemate Ethan Demumbrum, showcasing instant chemistry between the Middle Tennessee State teammates.

Game 3 – Strasbourg D3

Two days later, CHS faced the Black Star’s U25 team in a physical, high-intensity battle. Tyler Hoffberg (Tampa M3) opened scoring with two first-period goals, but a parade of penalties disrupted CHS momentum, allowing Strasbourg to take a 3-2 third-period lead.

The All-Stars responded when it mattered most. Goals from Linden Palmer and Brendan Ogle just minutes apart flipped the script and secured a gritty 4-3 victory.

Game 4 – Amiens Gothiques

The tour finale in Amiens proved to be the most physical matchup of the trip. Scrums after whistles led to multiple third-period ejections, but the All-Stars remained locked in.

Breakaway goals from Will Marshall and Cole Vallese helped CHS build a 3-0 lead before Amiens clawed back to make it 3-2 late. Refusing to end the trip on a sour note, CHS exploded offensively.

Goals from Christian Cuccia, James Kravis, and Reagan Lyon sealed a convincing 6-2 win, closing out an unforgettable European experience.

MTSU Shows Out

Middle Tennessee State entered the trip as one of the most dominant teams in the country, riding a 16-game winning streak and holding the No. 1 ranking in ACHA M3.

Their All-Star representatives proved exactly why. The four Blue Raiders combined for six goals and ten assists, with Brendan Ogle finishing as the team’s leading goal scorer.

Captain America

All-Star captain Will Marshall, affectionately dubbed “Captain America” by teammates, exemplified leadership on and off the ice. Marshall tied Ogle for the team lead in points (2 goals, 3 assists) while setting the tone with grit, composure, and selflessness throughout the trip.

If you missed any of the action from France—or want to relive the CHS All-Stars’ international run—all games from the European tour are available to watch on the College Hockey South YouTube channel.
