At College Hockey South, we are more than thankful for the talent and performances of our teams week after week. Week 12 was no exception to that, as three stars emerged from this past weekend of play.
1st Star: Matt Siciliano, Middle Tennessee State University (M3): 6 Goals, 3 Assists, 9 Points in 2 Games Played
Middle Tennessee has remained unbeaten since September and undefeated in CHS play. Most notably, coming off back-to-back double-digit wins over KSU (M3).
The Blue Raiders outscored KSU 26-4 over the weekend. Matt Siciliano led the way with nine points across his weekend. Four of those were off four goals in their second matchup of the weekend.
MTSU heads into the end of the fall semester with only two losses and undefeated in conference play.
2nd Star: Will Marshall, Florida Southern College (M3): 5 Goals, 3 Assists, 8 Points in 2 Games Played
Staying in M3, Florida Southern comes off a jam-packed two weeks of hockey. The Mocs have played five games since November 14th and went 3-2 over the two weeks.
Most recently, Florida Southern wrapped up a two-game series against in-state rival UCF, tying the series 1-1. Will Marshall lit up the score sheet over the weekend, earning him this week's 2nd star. Marshall scored five goals and tallied three assists over the weekend against the Knights.
Before their semester break, Florida Southern has one more two-game series; they are set to face Saint Leo (ACDC) on December 5th and 6th.
3rd Star: Dillon Segal, University of Tennessee (M3) 4 Goals, 3 Assists, 7 Points in 2 Games Played
Heading back to Tennessee, the Ice Vols offense continues to roll. After a 5-4 win over Tampa (M3), the Vols have yet to lose and come off an 11-goal performance against Florida (ACDC).
Tennessee’s success can be attributed to our third star this week, Dillion Segal. Segal scored a hat trick in the Ice Vols’ 11-2 victory over Florida and found three other points in their weekend series against the Gators. Tennessee’s offense outscored the Gators 17-2 over the weekend as well.
One more matchup for the Vols before the holidays as they head on the road to face KSU (M3) on Friday, December 5th.
Congratulations to Matt Siciliano, Will Marshall and Dillon Segal for earning honors as College Hockey South’s Three Stars of Week 12!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
