This week in College Hockey South featured tense rivalries, major rematches, and even a historic series that brought the Fighting Irish to Florida. Across the league, 34 games were played and 356 goals were scored. Fans were treated to everything from shutouts to overtime thrillers to double-digit blowouts. Here’s everything you may have missed from an action-packed Week 11.

Game of the Week: Clemson (M3) at Florida Atlantic (M3)

The tenth edition of CHS’s Game of the Week featured Clemson traveling to Boca Raton to face a struggling FAU squad — and the Tigers left little doubt. Clemson swept the two-game series with a commanding 7–1 win on Friday and an 8–5 victory on Saturday.

Junior forward Will Van Sicklin put on a weekend performance for the ages, recording a hat trick in both games and adding an assist for a seven-point series. For FAU, Sam Watson led the charge, scoring the lone goal on Friday and adding two goals and an assist in Saturday’s closer contest.

Clemson now improves to 5-3-0-0 in CHS play, while FAU remains winless in November at 2-9-0-0. Looking ahead, Clemson prepares for an in-state showdown with South Carolina, and FAU seeks redemption as they take on USF — the same Bulls who beat them twice back in September.

Auburn (W) vs Kennesaw State (W)

It was a great weekend to be a Tiger — especially for the Auburn women’s program. Auburn rolled past Kennesaw State with back-to-back statement wins, defeating the Owls 27–3 on Friday and securing a 21–0 shutout on Saturday.

The Tigers sit fourth in the Women’s North Division with 10 CHS points.

Florida Gulf Coast (M3) vs Notre Dame (M3)

History was made in Fort Myers as FGCU hosted Notre Dame in the first-ever matchup between a College Hockey South team and the Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame didn’t find much luck in the Sunshine State — FGCU swept the series with identical 7–1 victories on both Friday and Saturday.

Eagles forward Nathan Walker stole the spotlight with a five-goal weekend, including four goals in Saturday’s win, while adding five assists for a massive ten-point performance. FGCU now turns its attention back to conference play as they host Alabama in a two-game set.

Free Hockey, Priceless Wins

Multiple games extended beyond regulation this week, each with its own share of drama and playoff implications.

UCF vs Miami (M3)

After surrendering two shorthanded goals, UCF bounced back to defeat Miami 5–4 in overtime thanks to a heroic game-winner from forward Kevin Flanagan. The Knights followed it up with a 6–4 victory the next night, picking up crucial CHS points and keeping themselves firmly in the playoff hunt.

Florida Southern (M3) vs Lynn (M3)

After being shut out on Saturday, Florida Southern responded with a thrilling 4–3 OT win on Sunday. Will Marshall made his presense known, scoring three goals (including the overtime winner) and assisting on the fourth. The victory marked the Mocs’ first CHS M3 win of the season while handing Lynn its ninth loss.

Gators Pull Ahead in Women’s Standings

USF (W) at Florida (W)

With both teams chasing Tampa for first place, this matchup had major implications — and the Gators rose to the occasion. Florida earned a 9–6 win, powered by two goals each from Sarah Pagels and Beth Macarthur.

For USF, Chloe Valente once again dominated offensively, scoring four goals and adding an assist in a standout performance.

Florida now sits alone in second place with a 4-2 CHS record, while Tampa strengthened its hold on first after posting an 18–0 shutout against Miami.
