Week 10 of the 2024-25 College Hockey South season will begin on Friday, Nov. 8. With action-packed matchups across all three divisions and the annual Veterans Cup tournament kicking off on Saturday evening in Huntsville, AL, this week’s slate has the potential to be the season’s most exciting yet.
Game of the Week #1: Saturday, Nov. 9 - Auburn University vs. University of Alabama
As the first leg of this week’s Games of the Week double-header, the Alabama Frozen Tide and the Auburn Tigers will go head-to-head in an Iron Cup rematch in the semifinal round of the Veterans Cup tournament.
Both teams currently sit at the bottom of the College Hockey South Division 1 standings: Alabama is 4-6-1-0 (1-7-1-0), while Auburn is 1-10-0-0 (0-9-0-0).
The Tigers will look for their first divisional win and seek revenge in this weekend’s rivalry rematch. Alabama swept Auburn earlier this season in a weekend series on Oct. 18 and 19, 10-6 and 7-3.
To defeat the Frozen Tide, Auburn should focus on stopping Max Savaloja — College Hockey South’s first star of the month in October — who collected nine points (5G, 4A) against the Tigers in two games earlier this season.
The contest will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 5:30 p.m. CT (6:30 p.m. ET) at the Huntsville Ice Sports Center in Huntsville, AL.

Game of the Week #2: Saturday, Nov. 9 - University of South Carolina vs. University of Alabama - Huntsville
As the second leg of this week’s Games of the Week, the Alabama Huntsville Chargers (D2) will host the South Carolina Gamecocks (D1) in the second semifinal matchup of the Veterans Cup tournament.
South Carolina, 9-2-2-0 (6-1-2-0), leads the Division 1 standings, while Alabama Huntsville, 0-8-0-0 (0-4-0-0), is at the bottom of the Division 2 North standings.
The Chargers will look for their first win of the season against the Gamecocks, who are coming off a challenging weekend against the Tampa Spartans. South Carolina took home just one of four possible points in their National Championship semifinal rematch this weekend, suffering a 3-2 loss and a 4-4 tie while hosting the Spartans.
The contest will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m. CT (9 p.m. ET) at the Huntsville Ice Sports Center in Huntsville, AL.
Fans can watch the matchup via the College Hockey South YouTube channel here.
Veterans Cup Third-Place and Championship Games
The third-place game will be on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m. CT (11 p.m. ET), and the championship game will follow at 12:30 p.m. CT (1:30 p.m. ET), both at the Huntsville Ice Sports Center in Huntsville, AL.

Lynn University (D2) @ Middle Tennessee State University (D2)
Outside the Veterans Cup tournament, the Lynn Fighting Knights, 6-4-0-0 (4-2-0-1), will travel to Ford Ice Center in Antioch, TN, to take on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders, 10-1-1-0 (4-0-0-0) on Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9.
While the Fighting Knights are coming off a rough weekend after being swept by the South Florida Bulls, 6-1 and 14-3, the Blue Raiders collected four points last weekend with matching 8-1 wins over the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers on Friday and Saturday, increasing their current winning streak to eight straight games. With home-ice advantage and momentum, Middle Tennessee has all the necessary tools to pick up two more wins this weekend.
However, Lynn has some star power on its side in Lucca Vicino, who was College Hockey South’s Division 2 third star of the month in October. The forward collected 12 points (4G, 8A) in six games last month, leading his team in 16 (6G, 10A).
Puck drops for the matchups are slated for 8:45 p.m. CT on Friday and 3:30 p.m. CT on Saturday.
University of Georgia (D1) @ University of Tampa (D1)
In an intense matchup, the Tampa Spartans, 7-2-1-0 (4-0-1-1), will host the Georgia Bulldogs, 9-0-2-0 (5-0-2), at the AdventHealth Center Ice Rink in Wesley Chapel, FL, on Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9.
The two teams near the top of the College Hockey South Division 1 standings are No. 4 Tampa and No. 2 Georgia.
Last weekend, Tampa took home three possible points from its trip to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks, recording a 3-2 win in game one and a 4-4 tie in game two. On the other hand, the Bulldogs are coming off a bye week following their sweep of the Delaware Blue Hens at the end of last month, 5-2 and 4-2.
The weekend will feature plenty of offensive action; Tampa has 10 players scoring at least a point per game, including Nicholas Fontaine, the College Hockey South Division 1 second star of October. Fontaine has 17 points (12G, 5A) in 9 games this season, trailing his teammate — Justin Evans (8G, 10A) — by one point for the team-leading spot.
Georgia has four players performing at a point-per-game pace. Its leaders, Evan Parente (1G, 10A) and Ryan Bailey (7G, 4A), have 11 points each.
Puck drops for the matchups are set for 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday and 3 p.m. ET on Saturday.
University of Florida (D3) @ University of Alabama (D3)
The last notable game of Week 10 features two Division 3 teams: the Florida Gators will travel to Pelham, AL, to take on the Alabama Frozen Tide at the Pelham Civic Complex on Friday, Nov. 8, and Saturday, Nov. 9.
Alabama, 7-5-1-0 (4-3-1-0), is ranked third in the College Hockey South Division 3 North standings, while Florida, 4-4-0-0 (4-2-0-0), is ranked third in the Division 3 South standings. Last weekend, Alabama collected two enormous wins over the Alabama Birmingham Blazers, 21-2 and 15-0. The Gators are coming off of a bye week but lost four straight games prior; Florida did not collect a single win in October and will look forward to November for a fresh start.
Puck drops for the matchups are set for 10:30 p.m. ET on Friday and 5 p.m. ET on Saturday.
