The opening month of the 2025–26 College Hockey South season delivered big performances, breakout stars, and some familiar names reminding us why they’re among the best. From women’s hockey to the ACDC, September had no shortage of standout moments. Here are the top stars from each division.

Women's Division


1st Star: Cassidy Cross, Auburn University - 17 Goals, 11 Assists, 28 Points in 5 Games Played

Auburn’s first-year forward Cassidy Cross takes home the honors as September’s First Star after a blistering debut month. Cross posted 17 goals and 11 assists for 28 points in just five games.


Cross opened the season with seven goals across two Columbus Classic games against Georgia and South Florida before a quiet night against Alabama. But she quickly erased that with a jaw-dropping two-game explosion against Kennesaw State, where she put up 20 points, including an 11-point night with eight goals and three assists on September 28. That performance also earned her the First Star of Week 4.


2nd Star: Nina Molina, Clemson University - 9 Goals, 12 Assists, 21 Points in 3 Games Played

Clemson freshman Nina Molina grabs the Second Star, tallying nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in just three games. Her efforts powered Clemson to a dominant three-game sweep of Tennessee, marking an impressive start for the Tigers’ first women’s hockey season.


3rd Star: Chloe Valente, University of South Florida - 10 Goals, 6 Assists, 16 Points in 3 Games Played

Rounding out the top three, South Florida’s Chloe Valente earns the Third Star after scoring 10 goals and six assists for 16 points in three games. Valente turned heads at the Columbus Classic, recording a hat trick in each of her three appearances, capped by a six-point game against Auburn on September 20.

Division 2


1st Star: Rocco Bruno, Florida Atlantic University: 3-1-0-0, 1.25 GAA, 0.961% SV%, 2 Shutouts, 1 Assist

Florida Atlantic goaltender Rocco Bruno claims the First Star after another stellar start. The reigning back-to-back CHS Goalie of the Year went 3-1-0-0 in September, boasting a 1.25 goals-against average, a .961 save percentage, two shutouts, and even an assist. His top outing came on September 19 in a 42-save shutout against Florida, where he also picked up a helper.


2nd Star: Brady Baehser, Florida Atlantic University - 7 Goals, 4 Assists, 11 Points in 5 Games Played

FAU teammate Brady Baehser earns the Second Star thanks to his steady offensive presence. With seven goals and four assists for 11 points in five games, Baehser was at the center of the Owls’ early-season success, highlighted by a four-point night against Florida on September 19.


3rd Star: Kyle Myer, University of Tampa: 2-0-0-0, 1.64 GAA, 0.948% SV%, 1 Shutout

In third place, Tampa’s senior netminder Kyle Myer gets recognition for a 2-0-0-0 start to the season, posting a 1.64 GAA and a .948 save percentage, including one shutout. Myer’s best game came in a 34-save performance against South Carolina on September 19.

Division 3


1st Star: Grant Dietz, University of South Florida - 12 Goals, 7 Assists, 19 Points in 4 Games Played

USF forward Grant Dietz reminded everyone why he’s the reigning MVP, earning September’s First Star with 12 goals and seven assists for 19 points in just four games. Dietz powered the Ice Bulls to a dominant opening month, including a seven-point performance with three goals and four assists against Florida Southern on September 19.


2nd Star: Matt Siciliano, Middle Tennessee State University - 8 Goals, 8 Assists, 16 Points in 6 Games Played

Middle Tennessee’s Matt Siciliano secures the Second Star after notching eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in six games. He capped off the month with his best performance, a six-point outing against Alabama on September 27, where he scored twice and assisted on four goals in an 8-7 win.


3rd Star: Eddie Zane, University of Tampa: 2-0-0-0, 0.50 GAA, 0.979% SV%, 1 Shutout

Tampa goaltender Eddie Zane earns the Third Star, complementing Myer’s efforts at the M2 level. Zane was nearly perfect in two starts, posting a 2-0-0-0 record with a microscopic 0.50 GAA and a .979 save percentage, including a 21-save shutout against Florida Southern on September 26.

Men's ACDC


1st Star: Brayden Curry, Florida Tech - 10 Goals, 3 Assists, 13 Points in 4 Games Played

Florida Tech’s Brayden Curry takes September’s First Star honors after a scorching start that included 10 goals and three assists for 13 points in four games. His highlight came in a six-goal performance against Embry-Riddle on September 26, part of a nine-goal weekend that also earned him Week 4’s Second Star recognition.


2nd Star: Nick Naumov, Jacksonville University - 10 Goals, 2 Assists, 12 Points in 5 Games Played

Jacksonville’s Nick Naumov grabs the Second Star, helping lead the Dolphins to an undefeated start in their inaugural season. Naumov scored 10 goals and two assists for 12 points in five games, including a five-goal explosion against Florida Tech on September 20.


3rd Star: Derek Morgia, Florida Tech - 2 Goals, 10 Assists, 12 Points in 4 Games Played

Florida Tech’s Derek Morgia rounds out the group as September’s Third Star. The playmaker piled up two goals and 10 assists for 12 points in four games, including a four-point showing in the Panthers’ September 27 win over Embry-Riddle. Alongside Curry, Morgia has been a key driver of Florida Tech’s six-goals-per-game pace.
