1st Star: Chloe Valente, University of South Florida (W) - 5 Goals, 6 Assists, 11 Points in 2 GP

South Florida continued to lean on Chloe Valente for its weekend matchup against Miami, and she did not disappoint. Following up an impressive 16-point weekend at the Columbus Classic, Valente continued to prove her worth as a valuable forward for the Lady Ice Bulls.

In game one, Valente exploded with three goals in the second period and collected four assists throughout the night. Valente scored twice and gained two more assists in game two, securing USF’s win and domination of the Hurricanes.

Valente had a major hand in securing USF’s second place in the ranks this past weekend with two wins over the Hurricanes. The Lady Ice Bulls will continue to rely on her as the next team they face sits at the top of the Women’s Division: the Tampa Lady Spartans.

2nd Star: Jacob Duhaime, University of South Florida (M3) - 5 Goals, 3 Assists, 8 Points in 2 GP

University of South Florida hockey continues to dominate this week’s three stars, with our second star being Jacob Duhaime of the M3 Ice Bulls. While the Ice Bulls couldn’t get the two-game sweep over UCF (M3) this past weekend, Duhaime put up a good fight in both games, leading the team in goals scored and points.

Duhaime pushed South Florida to a game one 11-2 win, tallying three goals and three assists. Game two led to more difficulties for the Ice Bulls, but Duhaime secured another two goals against the Knights, softening the blow of the eventual 7-4 loss.

This standout weekend from Duhaime puts him at nine goals scored on the season, and surely on track to continue to be a top scorer for the South Florida Ice Bulls.

3rd Star: Nicholas Bowers, ERAU (ACDC) - 4 Goals, 3 Assists, 7 Points in 2 GP

Embry-Riddle was looking for a win this past weekend, as it sat with a 0-6 CHS record. Not only did the Eagles win, but they swept St. Leo with a 14-6 point differential. Our third star, Nicholas Bowers, had a hand in half of those goals.

In game one, Bowers started the weekend off strong with a hat trick along with two assists. In game two, Bowers picked up a goal and an assist towards the end of the game, just furthering the Ice Eagles’ lead and weekend sweep over the Lions.

Bowers seems to be a player who ERAU needs to turn its season around, especially as the Eagles travel to face Miami (ACDC) for the Hurricanes' home opener on Oct. 10.

Congratulations to Chloe Valente, Jacob Duhaime, and Nicholas Bowers for earning honors as College Hockey South’s three stars of Week 5!
