Most Valuable Player: John Riggins, University of South Carolina (22 G, 22 A, 44 PTS in 21 Games)
The MVP of the National Championhip a year ago carried his scoring momentum into the 2024-25 season in full force. The South Carolina sniper led all Division 1 skaters in goals and points while being the backbone of an explosive Gamecock offense.
Riggins also led College Hockey South in power-play goals in 2024-25 with eight, and even if you took away all of Riggins’ power-play tallies, he would still be in the top five in conference goal scoring.
Congratulations to John Riggins on an exceptional season and for being College Hockey South’s Division 1 Most Valuable Player.

Goalie of the Year: Ryan Testino, University of Georgia (10-1-3, 2.09 GAA, 0.926 SV%)
The Georgia Ice Dawgs have been at the top of the Division 1 standings the whole season, primarily due to their sparkling defensive numbers. Georgia allowed the fewest goals per game in Division 1 despite a schedule packed with offensive firepower.
Georgia’s main man between the pipes has been Ryan Testino, and Ryan delivered a marvelous 2024-25 campaign that has resulted in being named College Hockey South’s Division 1 Goalie of the Year.
Testino lost only once this year and helped lift Georgia to the top seed in the College Hockey South playoffs. The Ice Dawgs look to cap off their incredible season by capturing a conference championship on home ice in Athens, GA.
Congratulations to Ryan Testino for being named the College Hockey South Division 1 Goalie of the Year!

Coach of the Year: Drew King, University of Tennessee (19-3-1)
In the Summer of 2024, it was announced that Tennessee would be promoted to Division 1 for the 2024-2025 season following a Division 2 conference title the previous year.
With the uptick in competition, one would think Tennessee would have struggled to keep up with their new Division 1 counterparts, but that wasn’t the case under bench boss Drew King.
The Ice Vols burst onto the Division 1 scene with authority, winning nine of 12 conference games in 2024-25, finishing second in the conference, and earning a bye to the semifinals in the Division 1 playoffs this weekend.
Congratulations to Drew King for winning the 2024-25 College Hockey South Division 1 Coach of the Year!
