College Hockey South returns to Lakeland for Pictsweet Cup

LAKELAND – College Hockey South (CHS) will host its annual Division 3 playoffs at the Lakeland Ice Arena Feb. 23 through 25.

The tournament will feature eight D3 teams from the Southeast. CHS is excited to bring back exciting games to the Lakeland Ice Arena again, this time with the support of Pictsweet. Quarterfinal games will take place on Feb. 23, with the semifinals coming on Feb. 24 and the championship on Feb. 25.

CHS will host the tournament at the Lakeland Ice Arena, 3395 W Memorial Blvd, Lakeland, FL 33815. Players and staff will be made available for interviews throughout the tournament.

The commissioner of College Hockey South, Kyle Knell, is looking forward to returning to Lakeland.

“Every rink we host a tournament at offers something unique and different,” Knell said. “The Lakeland Ice Arena was converted into a rink from an old bowling alley. They have repurposed the bowling lanes into tables and bar tops, and they even have half of a food truck where they serve food and drinks. It's a great atmosphere not only for fans, but also the players to experience. We're looking forward to not just playoffs, but hopefully bringing more tournaments back here in the future.”
